The cover car this issue is Kevan Sledge’s incredible ’40 Mercury custom. Kevan’s Merc is the essence of what an early traditional custom should be and it looks as if it could be cruisin’ Atlantic Blvd. in Lynwood, California in the early ‘50s. All the way from Italy, we have the Watson-inspired ’57 Firedome owned by Alessio Canone. This clean and mild DeSoto also is the essence of a traditional custom, but this time as a late ‘50s kustom. Eunice Ibarra proves that girls dig customs too! Her beautiful ’55 Ford sure is a knock out, and she was involved with the build every step of the way doing much of the work herself. Gene Weaver of Kansas, clocks in with a mild “Moonglow inspired” ’54 Chevy in lustrous Almond Pearl paint.
